Medical Wing: Activation, Skills and Medical Supplies

Medical Wing is one of 3 wings in Base of Operations in The Division. It allows you to unlock new medical skills and thus heal allies better. This wing is a must have for all Supports / Healers.

Medical Wing Upgrades

When you first enter the base this wing is disabled and you need to activate it. You need to find and save Doctor Jessica Kandel in order to make it active (mission Madison Field Hospital). Once you save her, she starts working at the wing and you receive access to Medical Wing upgrades.

Reasons to Upgrade

Your character has different abilities and perks. When you start playing the game most of them are locked. The only way to unlock them is to purchase wing upgrades. When you upgrade Medical section you unlock new healing abilities.

You also receive new perks! Every upgrade unlocks a perk. Perks are permanent and that’s the reason why they are so important. You don’t need to trigger them every time.

There are 10 possible upgrades. The list of all of them can be found below:

Medical Supplies

Every upgrade has its cost. But it’s not in Credits. In order to purchase an upgrade you need to get special Medical Supplies. You can get them by completing special Medical Missions and Medical Encounters. There is no other way to get them.

Where to find these missions? The missions and encounters are marked on your map with special markers. Don’t forget to use Situation Reports in your Base of Operations to receive information about what’s happening near your base.

Pay Attention: Medical Supplies are used for upgrading Medical Wing only! This “currency” will not help you to purchase updates for other sections.

What upgrades to purchase first? It’s all up to you. The first upgrade is Clinic and you will have to start with it. But you are free to decide which updates to get next. It’s recommended to look through the list of Perks and Skills the updates unlock. This will help you to make final decision.

  • Always check chests and containers in Medical Wing. They may supply you with medkits and food.
